Main Street Bridge Railing
Forged, fabricated, and painted steel
3'6"h x 30’w x 1’6"d
Rochester, New York
The commissioned bridge railing was part of an urban restoration project for Main Street in downtown Rochester. Originally, Paley designed sentinel sculptures on either side of the bridge and lamp posts, but the final realization was reduced to only the railing. Bausch & Lomb was the corporate sponsor. The dedication of the bridge was part of the Main Event, a celebration of the newly renovated Main Street in 1988.
